2018 Back to School Night

2018 Back to School Night
Posted on 10/05/2018
Back to School NightWednesday, October 3rd was our annual Back to School Night! We had a great turnout of families. Thanks to everyone who came out! This year, the 4th and 5th grade families went right to classrooms at the start of the night so that they had more time with the classroom teachers. Thanks to the staff and families who gave feedback about the need for more time in classrooms, especially in the upper grades. In the gym, Principal Campbell touched on some of our priorities this year, including Equity and school wide expectations for Active Listening. She showed a brief video of Haggerty students sharing what it looks and feels like when they feel heard. It clearly outlined how actively listening allows our students to feel valued and important - AND - it is the foundation of building equity and empathy. The specialist classrooms were bustling and families who were able to mingle with the Erin Spencer, Ms. Pearlmutter, Mrs Russell, Mrs. West and Mrs. Novogrodsky seemed to also gather information about Haggerty!

We still need room parents in some classrooms! We need at least one room parent in the following rooms: Golding (107), Healy (106), Hassett (211), Moloney (306), Barker (307), Stewart (304), and Faucher (305). Please contact Lissa to volunteer!
