We’re so proud of our students for their stellar performance at the Spring Concert on June 5th. Kindergarteners wowed us with their German ("Schlaf, Kindlein, schlaf") and Spanish (Mexican Counting Song). First graders brought us two folk songs from Tennessee and Kentucky ("Cumberland Gap" and "Goodbye Girls, I’m Goin’ to Boston"). Second graders sang in two parts! Second graders sang two folksongs: "Bluebird" and the catchy "Bile Them Cabbage Down." The Haggerty Chorus walked in procession singing the Navajo song "Now I Walk in Beauty" in canon. Students accompanied on xylophone for partner songs "My Paddle" and "Land of the Silver Birch." We hope families chuckled as students sang Aaron Copland’s "Younger Generation" and cried some happy tears during "Sing Me a Song (of the Land I Love)."
Thank you to all the families who attended and all staff who supported children and made our transitions smooth! Thank you especially to music teacher Ms. Irvin-Kent for another great concert.
