Haggerty Chorus Travels to Perform

Haggerty Chorus Travels to Perform
Posted on 04/15/2016

On Wednesday night, April 13, the Haggerty Chorus was invited to perform in Newton at a Choral Invitational. The goal? To perform for, and listen to, choirs from
a variety of other schools in a friendly setting. No adjudication, no medals- just great music from a variety of groups! Haggerty Chorus was the only elementary group among several middle school choruses, but did more than hold its own. According to a few audience members (not from Haggerty), "your diction and dynamics were just incredible. I can tell your chorus works very hard."

Haggerty Chorus opened the set with "Clap Your Hands," a joyful celebration. Our next piece was a call and response-style piece called "Watoto Wa Dunia," featuring Mahamud Mohamud on drums. Our set ended with a three-part arrangement by Rollo Dilworth of "Ain't Gonna Let Nobody Turn Me 'Round." The energy was infectious and the applause after each piece reflected that! What an exciting night.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the night a success!
