Library Book Routine
You may see library books coming home in backpacks in the coming weeks. When your child brings a Haggerty library book home, please help to establish a routine which ensures that books will be “treated with love” and will return to school on time. Thank you!

Sponsor-A-Book

If you missed the Sponsor-A-Book display at Back to School Night, it’s not too late. Email me and I will share our wishlist with you. Thank you to everyone who was able to support our efforts to grow our collection. The new books are cataloged and ready for their visit to your home.

Honk Parade
Looking for something to do this weekend? The puppet librarian of Greater Boston is looking for children and families who are interested in holding puppets in the HONK! Parade. Email Sara Peattie.

How the Library Buys Books

Ever wonder how the library decides which books to buy? Here are just some of the many lists and reviews I use to create a library collection which reflects the diversity of our community, our students’ reading interests and books which support the classroom curriculum. You may find them helpful when heading to the public library with your child.
