STEAM NightOn Tuesday, May 24th our school had their first annual S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) Night! Thanks to parent Carroll Magill, and staff members Kevin McGonegal, Sarah Novogrodsky, Robin Leed, Thomas Materazzo, and Lucy Wittenberg, the night was a huge success! Interactive activities included Heart Rate & Exercise, Wind Tube, Augmented Reality Sandbox, Makey Makey's, ArtBots and Bristlebots, Kibo Robots, Composting, Seedballs, Books and the Beautiful Stuff Project, and Animals of Fresh Pond! Many of our families came to the event, and were fully engaged and focused!

This night would not have been possible without the outside help from a variety of local resources, including: MIT Musuem/Science on the Street, New England Base Camp, parent Alicia Volipicelli from MIT Lincoln Lab, CitySprouts, The Beautiful Stuff Project, Dept of Public Works, DevTech Research Group at Tufts University, parent Lisa Harteveldt who took heart rate, and Giants of Science Opera. Thanks to all who helped make this new, educational event a complete success!
