Second graders visited the Harvard Museum of Natural History (HMNH) to further their study of rotting logs and insects. The second graders have rotting logs, with insects, in their classrooms (see below) to make observations. Two observations today were "A pill bug ran into a hole in the log" and "The darkling beetles are making tunnels in the log." The students visited the
HMNH "to make close observations of the museum specimens and live animals, to investigate the diverse world of insects, spiders, and their relatives and discover the special features that allow them to live in varied habitats all over the world."
