On Friday, June 20th, our fifth graders hosted their final Haggerty Show assembly! Throughout the school year, they have led monthly all-school assemblies, and on Friday, they produced their big send-off production.
Groups of students presented on themes related to our school motto: “Everyone is Different, Everyone Belongs.” To close out their time at Haggerty, the fifth graders chose to sing “Happy” by Pharrell Williams. They also placed items into a time capsule, which they’ll open in seven years when they turn 18 and graduate from high school.
After the assembly, a fun reception was held at the Russell Youth Center for all 5th grade families and staff, hosted by caregivers. There was food, music, a photo booth — and even a "Guess the Baby" slideshow game! Students received 5th grade t-shirts, beautiful yearbooks, and cookies with their faces on them.
They also had the chance to thank Kathleen Fitzgerald for the Big Backyard curriculum she shared with them this year.
A huge thank you to all the 5th grade staff for an incredible year!
