Throughout the past month, our Garden Educators have begun the highly anticipated transition, returning to their natural habitats (your schools’ garden!). While we greatly enjoyed bringing the natural world into classrooms through our winter lessons, there is no replacing the experience of hands-on learning surrounded by a vibrant garden. With spring planting underway, students will have the opportunity to make a tangible impact they can observe throughout the entire growing season! For now, most of our gardens are still quite bare. Spring flowers have blossomed and in the coming weeks, more and more of the garden will begin to come alive. Make sure you get a chance to visit and check out how the garden progresses throughout the season!
We are excited to announce that applications are now live for our Young Leaders Summer Program. We offer an engaging, no cost 5-week program focused on creating future environmental stewards through project based science and engineering activities. Participants also develop garden based skills as they care and maintain the school garden, earning a $100 stipend upon completion of the program. If you would like to submit an application for a student aged 11-14, please visit our website.
As always, stay up to date with upcoming opportunities for both you and your student/s by following us on Facebook/Instagram/LinkedIn. Our summer volunteer applications are now live as well, so if you or someone you know is interested in helping their school community (no gardening experience required!), submit an application here. Here’s to a successful growing season!
