E.S.L. services take place in room 402 with Mrs. Luizzi. We work on the four English language domains; listening, speaking, reading and writing. Topics include, but are not limited to, skills such as fluency, vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation.

Where do ESL services occur?
In room 402, which is on the fourth floor (next to the library).

When do ESL services occur?
Most students receive services Monday through Friday for 45-60 minutes per day. The time blocks vary based upon student need and classroom scheduling.

How can family support an English language learner at home?
Continue to speak with your child in your home language. Having a solid foundation in one’s native language will help students learn English.

Talk about a wide variety of topics where children have to provide and explain their opinions, make connections and synthesize information. Engaging in detailed conversations about both academic and real life topics are crucial to a child’s language development.

Read to your child in your home language as much as possible.

Encourage your child to work hard and follow classroom expectations.

Help your child maintain a positive attitude towards learning, language, bilingualism and biculturalism.
