Our team, The Haggerty Harriers, consisting of 11 Haggerty parents and friends, completed the Ragnar Relay Cape Cod in 28 hours, 54 minutes, and 45 seconds.
Our first runner Katie (Sarah's friend from Connecticut) took off from Nantasket Beach in Hull at 7:30AM on Friday, May 11th, and Diego (JK Parent) our last runner crossed over the finish line on Saturday, May 12th at 12:24PM.
Margo (JK Parent), our 3rd runner, ran the "Wicked Hard" Leg and received great bling (medal) for completing the grueling 10.8 miles.
We had perfect running weather Friday and Saturday. We averaged about three hours of sleep over the relay and relied on our adrenaline to keep us running. All of us ran faster and longer than we ever expected. A few of us missed turns and ended up running a few extra miles, but always finished with a smile and a new tale to tell. We had an absolutely fantastic weekend that we all cannot wait to run again next year!
